Dear Fellow Health
Enthusiast,
That's the shocking truth; eventhough we already know a lot
about nutrition &
health. Lemme elaborate.
Just like you, I have also suffered more than my share of hype all
these years : whether it was about the conventional main-stream wisdom
on how to build muscle-mass (ingurgitate whey proteins) or a new
hip
supplement (pycnogenol, what-have-you...).
You may also have succumbed to some of these only to find that they
hardly
ever work. Worst still, they may actually be damaging your liver etc.
while you think otherwise. And the next year
yet another "new breakthrough" will get hyped up in the
media.
But that was until I
chanced upon this primal insight. It exposes the most critical
ingredient missing
from our plates today.
And to my utter dismay, very few know about it - even
fewer actually on-goingly partake it, even though it's the ultimate
determinant of our vitality & youthfulness. I think
that's
because it's not something that has been bombarded by the mass-media on
to the public psyche. Because it can not be commercially exploited
by the
big companies. As a
matter of fact we all get it for FREE - though some still prefer to pay
for it.
And once you
discover it
you will also agree that this meta-diet will always over-shine anything
that may ever show up in your nutritional radar.
A personal
anecdote is
in order.
Blissfully
ignorant that an epiphany of no small magnitude awaits me, I
walked up to this 'Holistic
Fair'
several years back, only to be accosted by a young lady right after the
entrance. She claimed to be a qualified nutritionist & pitched
for 2 bottles of multi-enzyme
capsules along with a free blood-test then & there to
prove its efficacy. Somewhat incredulously I condescended for
the non-obligatory offer.
I was hustled before someone wearing a white
lab-coat. He pricked a drop of blood from my finger onto
a microscope slide. I
carefully watched as he diligently covered it with a transparent slip without
adding anything else into the blood drop - no chemical, no powder,
fixative, stain etc.
The slide was placed under one of the microscopes there and I was invited to have a peek at it.
He : Do you see the red
'balls' there?
Moi : Yes, I do...
quite a few of them.
He : They are your Red
Blood Cells (RBCs).Just notice how
they are organised.
Moi
:
Well, I see a few bunches
here & there ...
He (with
a self-assured tone : Yep, just remember that until
your next round.
The young ladymade me to pop-in 3 of
those enzyme
capsules with a cup of water.
& requested : "Just be back by 1.30
pm. Please don't eat anything until then."
"Can't even drink water?" "Yes
you can." she nodded.
That left me with 90 minutes; Off I went came back on time for the post-enzyme
blood test wondering what's the point if it takes 3
pricy
capsules to give me a few hours of health-nirvana whatever
that
may be.
Different finger - new needle - same prick.
I remained
watchful to
make sure they dun play any tricks with my
blood
sample this time round as well.
Not knowing
what cometh my way,
I peeped through the eye-piece & my
feet instantly grew roots
into the ground.
I just
couldn't believe my
eyes!
Compared to the pre-test image, the
difference was simple but STARK.
"Holy cow! This is scary!" It had hit me hard.
The nutritionist nudged me aside "Did you
notice the difference?" she enquired with a
half-smile. I just had to acknowledge the blunt
on-the-face empirical evidence & she triumphantly went on to
recap the
mighty benefits of her multi-enzyme
caps. She
was expecting an easy close of the sale before moving on for the next kill.
And man... was I
zapped?
I didn't buy
any of
her capsules. Instead walked away grimly.
I felt something
amiss & didn't want to make an
impulsive
purchase & then regret it later. I just couldn't fathom the idea of
having to
depend on daily intake of costly enzyme
capsules for the rest of my life to keep
by RBCs from collapsing together.
God /
Nature couldn't have designed such a faulty body I reasoned!
But I was definitely shaken and couldn't wait to do my
due-diligence
before
coming to any conclusions about this. "What the hell
has my blody been
going through all along? .. & I never even realized it? Nobody
told me
this! This is scandalous"... I
felt cheated.
I was also a bit
sceptical
about this entire
episode & even doubted the integrity of the nutritionist
& her gang
there.
"I
gotta dig
to the bottom of
this" I resolved.
And that's what I did. Lo & behold - the nutritionist was
right! Well almost... just
that she
gave me but half the perspective. The part that served
her commercially. Fair enough! That still leaves me with all
the
gratitude for bringing me face-to-face with this big gloomy
'revelation'
that set me on to subsequently
discover the complete picture I am sharing with you right now.
What I unearthed catapulted my understanding &
appreciation of
human nutrition to a zenith way above the hype-driven
masses & the vehement cess-pool that goes by the name
of "health-industry" (a predominantly redundant
& largely expoitative establishment in my
perception). It's THE ideal
diet for anyone, anywhere, anytime, any-budget.
It's a diet
that proclaims the demise
of all generic multi-vitamins
& anti-oxidants forever.
It's the smartest way
to maximally leverage the design
of nature & the mechanism of life itself. It also has it's place
of pride in our wise traditions of the distant past. It is also the
best
solution for the ongoing food crisis in different parts of the world.

willingness to share all that he knows and his ability to generate
excitement is unique and refreshing.
Ok, Are you ready to roll-up your
sleeves to
get
into the nitty-gritty now?
We'll start with the basics 1st
:
Our blood has many types of cells
- of which the RBCs are the most numerous & most
important.
Their primary job is to carry
oxygen
(O2) to all our tissues besides removal
of metabolic wastes
& carbon-dioxide
(CO2) back to the lungs.
O2 diffuses
into
RBCs through
their surface membranes.
All RBCs (& the blood
vessel walls) have a negative
charge on their
surface. (It's called the zeta potential.) The resulting
electrostatic repulsive
forces between them keeps them apart as shown in this
figure -

What you see above is the ideal
state of
all RBCs in our blood (as is the
case for a healthy infant, animals in the wild & those adults
who partake an enzyme-rich
diet). This
mutual repulsion between ALL the blood cells and the capillary walls
contributes a lot towards keeping
the blood flowing freely & easily with optimum
velocity
& momentum through
our veins & arteries.
So
are you ready for the epiphany now?

your breath ...
In the 1st test I saw my RBCs somewhat like

Wow! Now wasn't that amazing? All
cells
un-collapsed miraculously & were restored
back as individual isolated cells floating independently well-separated
from
each other.
What's
the impact of this RBC
coagulation?
Oh
that's a long sad tale...
Poor oxygenation : Obviously
the total oxygen carrying
capacity of all our RBCs put
together depends on their total exposed
surface area for the O2
to
diffuse inside them through the cell membranes.
So if they are all glued together like a bunch of grapes then ofcourse
the
total surface area actually available to assimilate O2
is that of
the entire bunch which is much
less than
what's possible when the cells are well spread out. Lots
of cells remain hidden fully or partially within the bunch &
are not available for
O2 to enter. These bunches float around
with much less oxygen
than the actual total capacity of all the cells.
Waste
disposal : The above surface area limitation also
applies to CO2
transportation back to the
lungs. Carriage of other metabolic wastes back to our
excretory
system (kidneys, liver etc) suffers as well. This
includes urea,
uric acid, creatinine, bilirubin, ammonium ions etc
Fatigue
&
Lethargy
(headache, nervousness, dizziness in extreme cases) : This thickening
of blood makes the entire
circulatory system sluggish. It interferes
with easy movement of hormones
(from glands to target cells) causing sub-optimal functioning of
all affected organs, hormonal disturbances etc.
Ischemia : The
thinnest of our capillaries (arterioles & venules) are only
marginally wider than the diameter
of a single RBC as shown in this figure -

Sometimes the capillary is even
smaller than the size of the cell. (ex. a 7.8 µm RBC has to pass
through a 4 µm capillary). Each RBC will have to bend
& flex on its own to achieve this feat. So any RBC
clumping & depositions in vessel walls will tend to block
the thin capillaries causing localized anaemia
- this goes undetected in most of the places most of the time until
it's a bit late because those parts of the body have been suffering for
quite a
while by the time the damage becomes evident.
pH
Imbalance : Poorly oxygenated cells &
tissues are forced to switch over to anaerobic mode
of respiration (based on fermentation). This alongwith an enzyme-poor
diet makes our biological terrain acidic. Medical
scientists (for ex. Nobel laureate Prof.
Otto Warburg) agree
that cancer
thrives in such oxygen deficient conditions.
Decelerated blood flow also slows the neutralization of acids
(including
lactic acid produced due to physical exertion).
The ideal health-enhancing pH level of our blood is slightly alkaline
(7.35 - 7.45). Once it
is disturbed - our body pays dearly for that. (I
still lambast the "alkaline-diet" brigade in the Primal Health-Bites
newsletter, check out what's their biggest folly).
Kidney
stones : As it's 1st line of defence, body's leeches
calcium (from bones, teeth etc) & uses it to
neutralize the above mentioned acidic pH in the blood. The resultant
product is CalciumOxalate (CaOx) or CalciumPhosphate which are the most
common
constituents of kidney stones. (There are other
causes & components of stones as well ex. urinary infection
which again is better tackled by those on an enzyme-rich
intake).
Slackened Homeostasis
: Because of slow blood flow, both temperature regulation (heat loss
via skin if hot,
heat retention to brain & other vital organs via shunting)
& ion
regulation is impacted as well.
Depositions on vessel walls
also obstruct the free exchange of water, ions & small solutes
across the capillary wall i.e.
between the Interstitial fluids &
blood plasma.
Why
do the RBCs stack up like a deck of coins?
I was shocked when the nutritionist told me matter-of-factly
that the sole
culprit behind our RBCs sticking together is ...
our
food.
We didn't had the time to discuss "how our diet
causes all this?". So I just had to go back &
dig deeper to solve this part of the puzzle.
And
here's what I discovered : -
Raw foods like salads, fruits
& veggies (including non-veg stuff) inherently have all the enzymes
needed for their total digestion inside ourdigestive
system.
But
the moment they are subjected to temperatures beyond 39.5 oC
/ 103oF (while cooking) - all the enzymes in that
food gets denatured &
dysfunctional.
As soon as any food minus
its enzymes
reaches our tummy - our body is
forced to produce the enzymes
neccessary to digest it.
Not just that, since our enzymes
are "applied externally" to the cooked-food mass, they fail to
thoroughly mix with the ingested food. (Apparently we
don't have a
churner/mixer inside our stomach & intestine to do that.) Also,
the amount of digestive enzymes our body supplies may not
be enough (as is usually the case).
Because of this (& other
reasons highlighted in 'Vedic
Secret to
Longevity & Youthfulness') a
significant portion of the food absorbed from the intestine into our
blood-stream is only half-digested.
Sensitive micro-nutrients also
suffer damage when foods are heated.
Since undigested portions of the
food & 'damaged' (burnt) nutrients cannot be utilized by the
body, they float around
- some of thme are removed as explained in point 8 below while
the remainder gets
deposited somewhere.
And all the undigested stuff
(cholesterol, calcium etc. ) that has got stuck
on the endothelium is called arterial plaque.
Cationic
damage from cooked,
canned, processed foods :
All cooked foods, extruded cereals
(including whole-wheat 'healthy'
ones), white flour foods (macaroni, spaghetti, pizza,
noodles,
chapatti, bread), chips & dips, canned fruits, sweets &
desserts, meat & pork are highly cationic.
Cations
are positively charged ions. They stick to & neutralize the
negatively
charged RBCs & blood vessel linings. Without this
mutually repulsive force
everything becomes sticky - RBCs now tend to stack-up like a
deck of coins (since they are flat like a disc) or form clusters etc.
These phenomenon are referred to as intravascular
coagulation (clumping or agglutination), 'Rouleau'
formation, etc. in medical jargon.
Digestive
leukocytosis : Dr. Edward Howell says "White
blood cell count rises dramatically after ingesting a meal of canned or
cooked foods."
The WBCs show up whenever
there is something unwanted in the blood & their job is to
attack & destroy
them. The partially digested & burnt food-stuff floating around
is useless as it
can not be metabolised. Hence they do not belong to a healthy blood
stream & need to be scavenged away.
To avert proliferation of the unwelcome aliens
(presumably invading pathogens), the WBCs release a (acidic?)
chemical which
strips
away the negative charge from the neighbouring formed elements
in the
blood. Thus causes stickiness in their
surroundings, making it easier for the WBCs
(& antibodies, if any) to go and engulf them (phagocytosis).
Salting-out
of Blood :
Living foods lose their taste once cooked. Hence too
much of
salt (besides oil & spices) is required to make them
tasty.
The electrolyte imbalance due to excess
refined salt further brings down the zeta-potential on the surface of
blood-vessel walls & blood cells.
Not just that; Enzyme-less
foods overload our inherent
detoxification pathways (Liver, Lymph, Colon, Kidneys, Skin
etc). Several studies have revealed the direct correlation
between this organ-stressing toxic overload & about 64
diseases
like :-
Obesity
: The presence of undigested
foods in our blood streams
(which by the way further exacerbates blood stasis - now, isn't that a
double whammy?).
A tardy blood circulation increases the
odds of undigested foods
(calcium, cholesterol, etc) getting deposited wherever it can (arterial
& venous walls, joints, between different organs in the belly
area, other nooks & corners all over
our body); These depositions make many of us over-weight.
Hypertension,
Cardiovascular
diseases, Stroke : The above mentioned toxic waste
deposition along the blood vessel walls makes them narrow &
stiff which shows up as High Blood Pressure; when the
clogging is near the
heart area it's called atherosclerosis (coronary artery disease),
coronory thrombosis etc leading to a heart attack. When this
blood-clot develops in the
brain, it is a stroke; which usually leaves survivors
partially paralysed.
Gall-bladder
stones are mostly hardened cholesterol. This unhealthy
cholesterol is a direct contribution of cooked unsaturated fats,
animal fats, trans-fats & diabetes. All of these are
very much a part of the 'enzyme-less
diet' equation. In my package you will discover which sprouts are the
best sources of all the healthy fats (omega 3 & omega 6 EFA,
HDL) you need.
Nutrient
Deficiency : While cooking, the foods suffer heavy
nutrient loss. Whatever nutrients that are left over & manage
to get
digested as well, are carried by our blood (from
the digestive tract/
storage) to the tissues. A
tardy circulatory system thus directly impacts the health &
vibrancy of each & every cell in our body
including the brain
(which utilizes 20% of the oxygen & nutrients transported by
our blood).
Arthritis,
Knee/Hip joint problems due to osteoporosis
are just another instance of this phenomenon.
People have tried mineral calcium supplementation with mixed results -
why? because the calcium gets diverted towards neutralizing the
acidiosis in
the blood (& leaves behind kidney stones). So taking more
calcium is not the solution.
Besides calcium we actually need is an entire array of nutrients to
build strong tendons,
ligaments (besides building bone mass) & the lubricating fluids
in the joints. Even
more importantly these nutrients must ideally be in
a form in which they can actually be utilized by the body
while neutralizing acidiosis in an ecoogical & sustainable
fashion. I'll list out the sprouts best suited for this - better
& cheaper than any other supplement in the world.
While sedentary lifestyle is the
major cause of Diabetes, lack of enough
sugar digesting enzymes
affects blood sugar level. Enzyme-rich foods, on the other
hand, are generally less starchy
& need lesser
insulin. Also, the increased load on pancreas to produce digestive enzymes
(necessiated by ingestion of enzyme-lacking
foods over time)
may reduce its ability to produce enough insulin (due to reasons
explained in 'A Vedic
Secret to Longevity & Youthfulness'). I
am quiet sceptical about the claims that diabetes is genetic.
According to Dr. Howell : The
"stealing of enzymes
from other parts of the body to service the digestive tract (after
every enzyme-free
meal) sets up a
competition for enzymes
among the various organ systems and tissues of
the body. The resulting metabolic dislocations may be the direct cause
of cancer".
Sexual
problems - Men
: The average sperm count of today's
adult male is about 50 percent lower than it was 50 years ago. Enzymes produce
sperms. Judicious enzyme management based on living foods can
surely sort out the currently high
male infertility
rates (25%).
Prostatic
hypertrophy (BPH) is a part of early aging due to poor
nutrition (ie deficiency of natural vitamins &
minerals).
It also affects the mood.
Biochemically speaking,
ED is all about blood flow. Viagara
manipulates the enzymes. Chronic
degenerative diseases (as mentioned above) & the drugs used to
'treat' them
are known to cause sexual disorders.
Women
: female infertility rates afe also equally high (25%) - Pelvic
inflammatory disease (PID) is the major
cause worldwide. PID
comprises a variety of infections
caused by different bacteria that
affect the reproductive organs, appendix, and parts of the intestine
that lie in the pelvic area. Other causes include obesity, certain nutrient deficiencies
& multiple chronic
diseases. All of them are addressible by an enzyme
plenteous diet.
Eyesight
degeneration:
Enzyme-less foods lead to nutrient imbalance which may be
further
worsened by supplement pills. (For ex. Synthetic Vitamin C
blocks
Copper absorption & unduly increases Iron absorption). Men are
more
prone to oxidative damage due to excess iron
which causes macular degeneration (& other problems).
Myopia
epidemic in kids : A typical meal in any part of the
'civilised' world is based on staples which are currently consumed in a
form that is high in both starch & sugar.
This
increase in refined-sugar & refined- cereal
increases insulin levels which in turn elevates the level of
free Insulin like Growth Factor (IGF-1). Dr. Cordain L pointed
out a number of studies which suggest
that this causes myopia by accelerating scleral tissue growth
(which introduces refractive errors)
during early childhood.
It also disturbs
the coordination between eyeball lengthening and lens growth.
So if the
eyeball grows very long then the lens cannot flatten enough to
focus sharply on the retina. (Some races have an
increased susceptibility
to insulin resistance).
Enzyme copious foods
recommended further down have a Low Glycemic Index. (Anyways, this
dietary connection is besides the fact that we don't make enough
long-sighted use/exercise of our eyes these days.)
Weakened
Defense System :
Excessive production of WBCs (as
mentioned above) weakens the immune system over time.
Anaerobic internal
milieu (mentioned in the last section) also favours the growth
of fungi, bacteria, viruses & other parasites -
because they can survive with much less oxygen.
Immune system
components - WBCs, antibodies, blood platelets etc (&
antibiotics) - can't reach the lurking pathogens, since
their movement is retarded due to endemic viscosity.
Cations from the
blood seep into the lymphatic
system making it viscous as well.
All this turns our bodies into a "pathogen's paradise" & causes
hidden /
recurrent infections.
Slow
blood clotting : When skin is ruptured,
the enzymes
thrombin & thromboplastin cause blood-clotting; platelets need
to quickly reach the site of bleeding to build a blood-clot.
Excessive blood loss
during
mensuration :
- There
is some increase in intravascular coagulation during periods.
Chronic
Constipation, Stomach
pain, Skin rashes, Sciatica, Back pain, Allergies, Asthma, ENT
disorders, Cardiac irregularities, Liver problems,
Chronic Fatigue syndrome etc have also been associated
with cooked diets because they have no fiber & they leave the
body undernourished while
accumulating systemic toxins.
Senility
& Mental illnesses : Dr. Melvin H. Knisely, a
physiologist at the University of Chicago, thinks that
red-cell clumping may account for
many cases of mental illness (he found the central nervous system of
one psychotic patient "showered with permanent plugs" that had
destroyed many of the nerve cells). And he suggests that even aging and
senility may be accounted for by the damages accumulated over
time from the sluggish masses of RBC clumps.
Anyways, when we pop-in a generous amount of enzymes (in the capsules)
- they get absorbed into the blood stream. Once inside, they
breakdown the half-digested food-stuff
floating around. This allows the WBCs to withdraw back. The
bio-chemical homeostasis takes over, the chemical released by them is
cleaned up as well & it's disappearance restores the
mutually- repulsive negative charge on RBC surfaces.
But these enzyme supplements cannot entirely scrape the stuff
which has been stuck on the walls of the blood vessels for a long
time. Hence it's not
a complete
solution.
"Well,
if the situation inside of us is so grim
then everyone would have already known
about it...Doctors would be warning us & the
mass-media would be screaming hoarse" You may wonder.
I had exactly the same
questions in my mind as well.
I think we "don't feel anything wrong" because our excretory system
(liver, kidneys etc) tries to get rid of the impurities from the blood.
But we
do pay the price while they are still in the blood (ie after
every cooked meal) in terms of sub-optimum vim & waste
deposition. These toxic deposits are out of reach of the excretory
system which in turn remains continually overloaded.
There are other ways as well in which the body tries to maintain
bio-chemical homeostasis. Unfortunately they are all harmful
compromises
which only "buy time".
The inevitable
consequences pile-up gradually over decades &
eventually snow-ball into difficult-to-cure (easy to prevent)
maladies (cancer, diabetes, arthritis, heart-diseases, high BP etc).
By
the time
these gory
symptoms show-up, some of the damage is ireversible. Yes, it's
true, many common chronic ailments largely
accrue from a daily onslaught of our enzyme-denuded diet
though we prefer to attribute it to... old age. Alas!
Since everybody else is also suffering - it doesn't look that strange.
Isn't
that outrageous?
If you are still doubtful then let me ask : How
many of us surviving mostly on a
cooked-food diet can really claim to be performing at the peak
of their physical potential?
We may appear to be doing well from outside, but is there no
further room for improvement in
our diet?
Are all our organs (digestive,
circulatory, nervous, excretory systems etc) functioning at their best?
Do
you feel at the peak of your health?

we are what we e@t, then whatever we are, we can be more.

You
don't have to. Mind you, I was barely in my late 20s
